Geoffrey and/or Lyon >8D

A) My OTP: Geoffrey/Elincia. Because it's adorable. And I actually very much like the fact that for a long while it seems to be one-sided. I do have a weakness for things like that. And despite them being kinda-siblings I never got any "sibling vibes" from them (I did get them from Lucia and Elincia, which is probably one reason why I can't ship them)

B) The runner up: ~~Geoffrey/Ike~~ Geoffrey/Bastian. Because Bastian >8D

C) The anti-ship: For some reason I can't stand Geoffrey/Nephenee. I don't know why and maybe a year ago I could read it perfectly well. I don't know what happened here.

D) My unpopular fannish opinion on said character: ~~He's not a pansy~~ Damn, I'd need to know some popular opinions about him XD Maybe that he'd get over his crush on Elincia? But I do believe that about almost all characters, like Seth. Lyon might be an exception here 8>

E) One person he/she never fell in love with, and why: That sweet NPC from chapter 24161 even though he had a nice ass. Too bad.

A) My OTP: Ephraim/Lyon. It just makes so much sense. 8D

B) The runner up: Lyon/DK. Idk. I don't have that much Lyon pairings. Onesided Knoll->Lyon is amusing but I have no special feelings about it XD

C) The anti-ship: I really can't get behind Eirika/Lyon actually. I always had the feeling that Lyon is far too focused on Ephraim. He doesn't ignore Eirika, but it never felt as genuine to me.

D) My unpopular fannish opinion on said character: Is it unpopular to think that he's pathetic and a surprisingly boring villain? As a character he is interesting with all his issues and yes his patheticness. But as a villain he sucks.

E) One person he/she never fell in love with, and why: ~~His daddy~~ He never fell in love with L'Arachel, which is tragic, because that would've been hilarious. And poor Knoll, Lyon never fell in love with you as well. *sadface*

umm, Ephraim and... fem!Seth! Or just normal Seth, if you'd prefer that. :D

B) The runner up: No one, really, because I don't really have any other pairings that I have feelings about for him. But I do like Ephraim/Kyle and Ephraim/L'Arachel as well.

C) The anti-ship: Ephraim/Eirika. I'm neither particularly into incest nor do I actually see anything in their supports that supports it. Hm.

D) My unpopular fannish opinion on said character: I don't think he has as much issues as others seem to think at the moment? Gawd, I really have no idea what fandom thinks. I'm always suprised when someone says that fandom has this or that opinion. Can I get a mail when fandom changes its opinion?

E) One person he/she never fell in love with, and why: Tana. For obvious reasons. He treats her more like a child or another little sister. I'm not even sure if their personalities are compatible.

A) My OTP: It was Seth/Eirika for a long time, but now I'm mostly meh on it. I do favour unrequited Seth->Fado at the moment >8D For both versions.

B) The runner up: I'd put Seth/Eirika here because it's still my second favourite. Both versions.

C) The anti-ship: Seth/Cormag. Cormag is just... partially it's the way he stares at the player and partially because I just don't like him :P Something about this pairing makes me ugh. Haven't thought about femSeth though. I'd probably ship her with most people :P

D) My unpopular fannish opinion on said character: He's a character with faults and that's awesome. Moar "issues-Seth" fics.

E) One person he/she never fell in love with, and why: Valter. Even though his ~love lance~ pierced him, Seth never returned his ~stabby love~ Valter was very sad about this.

A) My OTP: At the moment I ship Tana/Adventure. Seriously, I prefer to use her ending with Eirika as "canon"; she has a family with someone who is not part of the army. Someone unknown. I just don't like her options.

B) The runner up: Tana/Seth. Just for the lulz.

C) The anti-ship: None, really. Tana is very shippable :P

D) My unpopular fannish opinion on said character: Tana is pretty independent towards the end of the game and wouldn't accept a marriage to Ephraim if he doesn't really love her. It'd take much, MUCH discussion and convincing to make her form a political marriage with him.

E) One person he/she never fell in love with, and why: Lyon, because his cloud of gloom hid him from her gaze of happiness. Or something. XD

A) My OTP: Lute/Books. Like most mages, obviously.

B) The runner up: Lute/Bugs.

C) The anti-ship: Lute/Artur. He's too ~human~. Honestly, though, her treatment of him is not... the nicest.

D) My unpopular fannish opinion on said character: Are there any opinions on Lute? Maybe that's she's probably asexual and would only have sex to write an essay about it.

E) One person he/she never fell in love with, and why: Everybody who's not a book or a bug.

FE9/10 Mist and/or FE8 Kyle

A) My OTP: Mist/Boyd, I guess.

B) The runner up: I could see Mist as staying a single and adopting a bunch of war orphans. Because I believe she'd definitely want a family, especially after Ike left.

C) The anti-ship: I really don't like Mist/Rolf (just wanted to write Wolf, rofl). I just... don't.

D) My unpopular fannish opinion on said character: She's not useless.

E) One person he/she never fell in love with, and why: Rolf. Because he's too much of a brother and best friend to her.

A) My OTP: I... actually don't have one. I like almost all of his "possible" pairings; Lute, Syrene, Forde, Ephraim. Though Kyle/Syrene is on the last place because Gilliam/Syrene rocks.

B) The runner up: Seth/Kyle could be awesome, actually.

C) The anti-ship: I don't think there is one.

D) My unpopular fannish opinion on said character: Has fandom any thoughts on him? Hm, I think he's a family person. He doesn't look like it and maybe he'd never get it (and he would sacrifice it for his country and duty), but he'd love to have a big family.

E) One person he/she never fell in love with, and why: Voldemort.

Well, it's canon that Lyon loves Eirika, so I think that can't be ignored. But. . .I agree that everything he does about Ephraim seems much more . . . intense?

I think the common opinion on Lyon is that he's, to be crude, a pussy, and not a very intimidating villain. lol.

Also, Geoffrey/Nephenee. I don't get it.

Curious - do you see Ephraim/Lyon as requited? Like, does Ephraim feel the same way?

I still haven't completely understood what Orson meant in the Renais-chapter (when you attack him with Seth). So confused. Someone should write about that 8D Or maybe how him growing up in such a traditional family with such a long lineage of knights shaped him. Hm~

Buuuut I always feel like there's a huge risk for Seth to collapse the way Orson did, if things line up just the right way.

He does love her, but not as he loves Ephraim. It just feels a bit different :/

Well, he truly isn't intimidating XD He's too squishy to be intimidating. (Which could be scary, because the small ones and children are always the most scary parts in horror movies, but Lyon is just... Lyon XD)

That is an interesting question. To put it into simple words; yes. To make it more difficult; not really. It's... more like they're friends+1. To outsider they still seem like friends - they don't hold hands, or kiss in public (kiss very rarely), go on "official" dates (only "Lets grab some food" or "Hey, there's a theme park! I wanna ride the rollercoaster"). And in many ways Ephraim´s feelings haven't changed; often Lyon is still just "friend". And yet, there's just this underlying feeling of "we're more than friends", but it's not easy to discern. Also, I really can't picture Ephraim ever saying "Lyon, I love you". He communicates his love differently.

It is... complicated.

I always took it as. . . well, Orson's eschewed his duties to chase his personal desires. Seth is the opposite - even when it's probably tempting to run the hell away, he doesn't. But in return? Chances are his personal life, his needs and wants, will suffer.

Hm, makes sense. I always took Orson as a "negative example" for Seth, in a way. In a "If you neglect and entirely suppress your desires, you might end up like him". But with Orson as a negative example and the fact that I believe that Seth is more emotionally stable, I don't find the chance that that happens too high. But it could be fascinating.

Honestly, I find the chance that Kyle suffers the most under putting his duty over his personal life and needs higher. Idk, just a feeling.

A) My OTP: Lucia/Bastian, because I love their dynamic. And the fact that they never marry; it just fits so well and makes so much sense for them.

C) The anti-ship: Lucia/Janaff. I just... something about this pairing squicks me. I really don't know why, but no.

D) My unpopular fannish opinion on said character: I never saw anything romantic between Elincia and Lucia. But maybe that's just because their sister-relationship is so awesome and I like family relations more than romantic relations. Dunno.

E) One person he/she never fell in love with, and why: Soren.

Secret of Mana is so much love.

A) My OTP: Despite everything, Girl/Dyluck, because their relationship is really tragic, with him being kidnapped and zombiefied and in the end dead :( And then he even protects her and everything. Sadness ;A; So nice.

B) The runner up: Girl/Guy. Some time after the end of the game, because in-game love seems strange to me. Girl is too focused on Dyluck to fall in love with Guy. But afterwards they would be very sweet together. And could help each other cope with Sprite´s death ;_;

C) The anti-ship: Girl/Thanatos. Never XD

D) My unpopular fannish opinion on said character: Since this is Secret of Mana and it's almost 20 years old, I doubt there are any opinions XD Hm, maybe that I believe the German translation is better, because it's whackier. But some people don't want goofiness and nerding in their epic Action-RPGs.

E) One person he/she never fell in love with, and why: Sprite. Because that'd be awkward.

While some people have slash goggles or pairing goggles, I have family goggles. 8D

I dunno. I've only ever seen one author writing it and there are/were a few fics of her with Lucia/Soren that I liked. The ones were their relationship is shown as messed-up and not entirely happy. It's oddly fascinating, but believing that they are both in love with each other, no. I don't know what her reasoning was, actually. It never came through her fics, imo, and I never look at the profile of an author so I don't know if there was something.

Besides, in my mind Soren is pretty much asexual and definitely aromantic. Which fits well with Ike, who's also asexual in my mind.

I can't help but ship Boy/Girl, because they are epic. She is my favorite character to use too, ahaha.

Girl/Sprite would be so awkward. I wonder if she had trouble figuring out his gender like I did as a kid...?

I love their dialogue. So much 8D Back when I always played that game with my brothers, I always chose Girl because Guy´s way to walk is just so hilarious (well, at least when you see his back while he walks).

Wait, yeah. In English there was a "he" somewhere in the beginning, which confused me, since Sprite was a girl in German, I believe. Or I just always assumed Sprite was a girl. D'oh! No, just remember. She was "Koboldin" in German, which has a female ending. So she was female in German. English, unfortunately, has no gendered nouns anymore.

Personally, I can't see Ephraim/Lyon as knowingly requited in canon. There's just too much saying otherwise there for me. But in an AU, what you pose sounds about right.

Also, re:Orson and Seth and Kyle - I don't think Kyle really has that issue. He's able to ditch for Frelia, or run off with Lute. He's not tied down by any sense of duty in the end. Seth, on the other hand, ends up in Renais no matter what, you know?

Oh yeah, in canon it's even weirder. Something is there but you cannot be completely sure what it is XD

I found Kyle´s strange focus on Ephraim really, really strange. That's mostly why he falls into the "could be" category.

B-but I thought Cormag's perpetual frowning was cute! Sort of like Ike's, really. :'D

I think Seth->Fado seems rather intriguing. And also a bit creepy, but I guess that's what makes it intriguing! I'm no expert on Seth as a character, but it's nice to hear that you think he has faults, at least. That tends to make characters more interesting to me, and I've never cared for ~perfect flawless knights in shining armor~, myself.

I found Cormag´s stare SO. Creepy. Ike´s frown in Radiance was so different than Cormag´s.

Creepiness is good for you >8D I do like ~perfect shining knights~ every now and then. But normally I just want "normal" human beings. Neither a heap of messed up issues nor perfect robots. Just humans.
