Just a lil' fanfiction

Mm, been lazy today. Nothing major happened. But I will post a little fic today:

It's just a little experiment. The first time I saw the Second person style, I've wanted to try it. And now I finally did. And I think it's pretty hard. Personally, I don't really like it. I like it more than First person, but I still don't feel comfortable with it. But it was fun. So enjoy.

Title: None

It's hot and stuffy. You can't breathe, something presses on your face and chest. You try to get it off, to feel fresh air on your face. Your limbs are heavy and you can barely turn your head upwards.

It's dark. You can't see. You can't feel anything but the heat and the trepidation. You feel that somebody should be with you. Someone to protect you and help you. But this person is not here. Why are you not here? You gasp for air but it feels like you're swallowing water.

You want to get out. Out of here. Panic freezes your blood. You're bogging down in heat. I want to get out!

Suddenly cold air hits you in the face. You're sitting in your bed, panting hard and panicly looking around, the canopy of your bed flows slowly in the light breeze. The room is empty, nobody but yourself is here. You rake your hand through your hair and try to calm down. You still feel that someone is missing. And you panic again. He should be here, with you. Why is he not here? Where is he? You stand up, nearly stumbling over your nightgown, and tumble towards the door. You notice the moonlight on the floor and let it guide you through the room. The floor is cold beneath your bare feet but the panic is too strong. You don't care about anything but him.

You yank the door open and let it crash against the wall. The corridor is illuminated by torches, the walls are bare stone. You shiver shortly after you stepped into the corridor. It's draughty and your nightgown is thin. First you walk slowly like in trance, lulled by your own breathing. When you pass the second torch, you start to run. To run to where you know his office is. It's the only place where he could be.

Bright, dark, bright, dark. You see the flickering fire of the torches in the corner of your eye. Your skin grows cold and you tire quickly. The lack of sleeps takes a greater toll on you than you thought. You're angry at yourself but you don't have time to think about that now. You have to find him. To see if he is still there.

You turn around a corner. Wooden doors appear on the left, so many doors that all look the same. You know that his room is at the end of all of them. Your heart beats quicker and your skin prickles. He will be there, your fear is unnecessary, there is no danger, there is no reason why he should not be in his room.

Your feet slap loudly against the stone floor. A smile appears on your face, flickering between relief and panic.

Suddenly you stop. You're standing in the middle of the corridor, panting and gasping, and you shiver again. No, he is not there. You know he is not there.

He's in the tower.

You turn abruptly and speed away. Quicker and quicker, your heart races and beats against your throat. The air feels heavy again. It presses against your chest and you feel like you're dreaming again. The panic comes back stronger, tears press against your eyes. They burn but you ignore them. You swore to yourself that you would not cry over something trivial like dreams.

You throw open the door of the tower and climb up the flight of winding stairs. The air grows colder the higher you climb. Your teeth are chattering lightly.

Suddenly you slip and fall. Your knee smacks against a stair. A curse escapes your lips but you stand up as if nothing happened. You've had worse injuries before. You start running again. The panic becomes stronger again but you can already see the finally door. The door that separates you from him. Only a few stairs, just four, now two--

You slam the door open. The air hits you hard. The cold sweat on your neck sends a shiver down your spine.

There is only one person on the tower. He had jumped to his feet, when you threw the door open. Now he stands before you with an incredulous look on his face. Tears prickle at the corners of your eyes and you barely suppress a sob. He's here. He's here, he didn't disappear.

Before he can utter a word, you storm towards him. You throw yourself in his arms and press your face into his shoulder. You feel his surprise when he stiffens for a second. But when he puts his arms around you, the panic finally subsides. He is here and he will not go away.

You feel his lips on your temple. They're warm, so much warmer than your skin and you press yourself tighter against him to steal some of his warmth.

"What happened?" he asks in his low and beautiful voice.

"A dream." you answer and sigh lightly. The dream seems so stupid now, with him in your arms.

"I see." he mumbles and tightens his grip.

"I don't know what happened but you weren't there. It felt like you were gone forever." Drop by drop the anxiousness wants to come back and you shiver. But he slowly rubs your back and you feel safe again. You relax and happiness replaces the dread.

"You know that I would never leave you." You sigh lowly.

"Yes.... I know." You feel his tiny smile against your temple.

"I love you, Eirika."
