Stuff

So, I finally finished posting all my old and recent stories on my dreamwidth account . Now I have my own writing journal~

Now something not completely different:

Songs. Namely old, traditional songs in a language that is no longer actively used. FE8 has them.

Renais: They have a language similar to old French.
Frelia: Old English or Middle English
Grado: Old High German or Middle High German
Rausten: Old Italian
Jehanna: Haven't thought too much about it, but my brain forces Old Greek on it. Or an old language from that region (region is a very broad term here...)

Also, should I ever need to write out a healing spell, I will use the Old High German healing spells. They already exist and are awesome. There are some for blood illnesses, broken bones and even epilepsie (called Fallsucht) (And many for wounded horses as well!). Additionally, they only work if they are said aloud and if they are said in a certain way. This "chant" is handed down from master to pupil only. It just fits. Now I only have to look up more so that I have them ready in an emergency case.

The Merseburger Zaubersprüche are the most famous spells, I think. Then you have this site here but it doesn't have translations nor is it in English. As far as I remember the lecture there are some more but before I can say more I have to find that book the professor recommended. And you couldn't use all spells in Fire Emblem since some of them include Norse gods or Christ and Judas. In some cases you could probably cut those parts out.

I love the idea of like, Natasha, using something similar, since I've imposed a lot of Germanic culture on parts of Grado, but I dun wanna steal your idea, man.
But those links are pretty awesome. I write a lot of fantasy (outside of fanfiction), so these might be awesome inspiration, thank you <3

I don't have a copyright on those ideas and I would love to see people spread the Old High German love~ Old languages are just awesome.

Those sound so awesome. I liek.

(Jehanna, to me, has a weird mix of Greek and Persian/Arabic? More the last two than anything but yeah. "Region" is a broad term.)

I admit that I used "region" because I really suck at geography and I was too lazy to look those places up :p Persian sounds good as well.
