More Jane Austen stuff
So, I'm back from London. It was quite fun I have to say, apart from the fact that the first two days were freaking hot! And I hate hot weather. But if I ignore that it was pretty cool. London is not the city I would want to live in, but they have some very beautiful, old buildings. But it is definitely too loud. And too big.
But what was even better than visiting London and the British Library; I finished "Pride and Prejudice" and it's awesome. Mr. Darcy is not as awesome as both Mr. Knightleys though. But I do think he looks really cute when he blushes. I don't know why but I think he would look pretty cute. Also, am I the only one that senses a Kent-ish vibe coming from him?
I have approximately three favourite characters from that novel:
1. Mr. Bennet; he is awesome and you know it. While he is not as adorable as Mr. Woodhouse, Mr. Bennet is very... headstrong and sarcastical.
2. Mr Darcy; when he first appeared, I didn't really like him. With the few comments of the narrator, one can perceive that there is more behind his cold exterior, but he was still "very disagreeable". But after his appearance at the lake, I liked him infinitely more. At the end he was really awesome. And the letters he wrote! Ah, he is an excellence character.
3. Jane Bennet; with her love for everyone she grew on me and I was quite angered when Miss Bingley and Mr. Darcy interfered with her romance.
But I really have to wonder.... why has Mr. Darcy so much time to stay with Mr. Bingley? Doesn't he own a big estate and doesn't he have to work? At least a bit? While I know that he has a stewart and probably other people that work for him, he has to go home and supervise the work at some time. But he stayed in Netherfield for such a long time. I'm quite confused.
I really, really dislike Lydia. I just hate characters like her.
Now, back to my favourite Austen book; Emma. I was determined to find some icons, because it was necessary :D But there were no illustrations, only icons from some movies. So naturally I had to watch them.
First I watched the movie with Gwyneth Paltrow from 1996. While the actor who plays Mr. Knightley is yummy, the movie itself is only okay. I don't like Gwyneth Paltrow anyways.
But the BBC productions from 2009 is AWESOME! It deserves caps lock´s letters. It's a production in four parts and the script and everything is kept true to the book. And Johnny Lee Miller who plays Mr. Knightly is not only a great actor but also a yummy Mr. Knightly. You should definitely watch it on youtube. (British English is sexy)
I already have read "Northanger Abbey" and while I do like it, it will never be one of my favourite books. The heroine is really, really ... dense and... I don't know. Henry Tilney is pretty cool and nice but else it's only moderately interesting.
I started reading "Mansfield Park", but I'm quite undecided yet. I do like Fanny and the other characters are funny as well (Lady Bertram and Sir Thomas) or downright evil (Mrs. Norris). But the sparks haven't flown yet.

Also, I think Mr. Darcy can get away with doing whatever he wants because he pretty much pays everyone to do everything for him. ie: he pays someone to supervise staff, to do the accounting/books, to pay servants, to make him money. So he doesn't really have to stick around anywhere. Which would be nice.
Also, Lydia. I don't like her, either. I think she's delusional. But on the other side of the coin... I kind of feel sorry for her. She thinks things are so great...but they're really not.
And Jane! Jane was lovely. ♥ A lot of people could learn from her, I think.
Myself included. I could learn to be nicer.no subject
Yeah, I was thinking that as well. I just thought it was very strange that he was travelling with the Bingleys for such a long time. I can't recall the exact time, but I believe it was about a year? And that is awefully long. And poor Georgiana sees her brother not often enough. (I quite like her. She's sweet.)
Lydia is really... Oh well, her mother is strange too, so we can see where it comes from.
