Reading about typical features in Gothic novels makes me want to write a "Person X finds cursed object and bad things happen" story myself. I do like to write ghost stories (without me noticing it I've already written, like, four or something), though that doesn't mean that I particular like reading them (or watching ghost movies. No, all ghost movies I know I do hate.). Hamlet was nifty and Macbeth had awesome ghosts as well (Sorry, I can't think of any other books with ghosts in them now XD).
That and the "Delusional Girl meets Vampire who acts like a Twilight-woobie and noms her in the end while she thinks she's going to be a vampire to but in reality she dies and may or may not become a ghoul" story that still lives in the back of my head. I probably won't write them though... I don't really have the drive to write original fiction.
Or better yet, a story about a succubus/incubus (I forgot which one targets females) who appears in the girl´s dreams and then steps out of her daydreams and embodies the vampire. She thinks he is a real one and gets obsessed with him. He makes her sever all ties with other humans because that makes her soul tastier. And in the end when she thinks he's gonna make her his vampire bride, but he's just nomming her soul. 8D God, that would a blast to write.
Also, my brain decides that Vampire = German, Cursed Object = English. It surprises me, because it's the first time in months that my brain tells me that a story can only be written in German. Huh.
