scarletmorning: (Geoffrey)
Not just because of the feeling of accomplishment when you finish a story. Not just because you feel proud at finishing the story or writing it at all. Not just because you're happy that you got that annoying plot bunny out of your head. They are part of it as well but...

When you just get drawn so much into the story that you cry when the characters cry, when you feel the pain they are feeling, when your heart speeds up because time's running out for the characters, when your hands start shaking because it's they barely missed death...

Then you experienced just what I did. My heart was beating in my ears, my fingers grew cold and I just couldn't stop writing because I couldn't let them hang in this horrible situation and I needed to free myself as well. And when the scene was over, I could sigh in relief and the adrenalin left.

That is why I love writing.
