Well. . . if we're talking seriously?
Personally, I think if he'd manned up and told one (or both!) of the twins his feelings, they might have been returned. And I do think that if that were in place, he probably wouldn't have been consumed so easily by his gloom and self-loathing.

But! He didn't. And both twins are pretty fabulous at failing to realize when someone's into them, soooo yeah.
