My feeling is you have to take anything Knoll - and to an extent, the twins - say about Lyon with a grain of salt.

I really don't think a perfect, kind, selfless man could end up as twisted as he did in the end. Nope. Doesn't add up.

I think he was kind, yes, and selfless - but in the worst way, the way where he had absolutely no sense of self-value, and constantly sought the approval of others, indirectly, to attempt to feel like he was worth something. He expected others to validate him, rather than having some ego himself.

I'm not honestly sure I find it interesting enough to explore, really. What draws me to Lyon is exactly what I mentioned before. Without that twisted element to him, he's just not very interesting.
