I've just read the FE Gaiden script from serenesforest and... is that really all? It's just 33 pages in OpenOffice, un-reformatted. That is... very little.
:/
Well, I can only say; colour me unimpressed. It's... very meh. Rudolf was awesome, but the rest of the characters were pretty forgettable. Mycen/Maisen was also pretty cool.
(I'm on chapter 6 of Genealogy and also still mostly "meh". Oh well, will continue reading tomorrow. Maybe it'll get better)

11/9/11 23:47 (UTC)Huh. Well, it's an NES game. And IMO, the jump in characterization from FE1 to FE2 is like going from black-and-white TV to color.
Rudolf is awesome, and Mycen is a really cool old dude, IMO. I dunno, I just also feel such serious love for Cellica and a lot of her party-- Jesse, Jenny, the Peg Knights. Compared with the bare-bones Hero's Quest of FE1, FE2 just feels to me so warm and humorous and intimate. A lot of characters have happy romantic endings, even!

Yeah, I can't get into most of the characters there. I tried, and they just don't work for me. Levin's pretty cool, though.
