This is one of the best battle themes I know. I cannot think of any other theme that doesn't anyone me after 5 seconds or that is so... engaging as this.

This here belongs to the same category as well, but is a bit different. When I hear this theme, I get all squishy and happy and nostalgic. Oh man, SNES was just such an awesome console. I love it.

Also, on another note; I'm curious. I'm wondering how are folks on my flist pronouncing loan words, especially German ones. Like "verboten" or so.

That's actually a good question. I've never really listened to myself speaking German words, but I probably do the same thing to them that I do to Japanese (i.e. inadvertently let the accent I use for French, in which I am fluent, glue itself to the words, which is often really funny). I know enough about German to know that pronunciation is a little tricky. (And that there are three word genders, one extra letter, etc.)

And you already know I love the FFMQ soundtrack. :-)

Hm, I've just heard in a lecture yesterday (in a footnote) that English-speakers tend to place the stress on the wrong part of the word, especially in longer words. English pronunciation is MUCH trickier than German, though. In German you can generally assume that the words are pronounced as they are written. One extra letter? I can think of four at the top of my head.
