Hmmmmmmmm, I want to write. I'm out of my slump, more or less (TMI: my period is also almost over. Coincidence? I don't know), but I don't know what to write.
So, friends' list. If you have some prompts, give them to me. The usual suspects are Fire Emblem (6/7, 8, maybe 9/10), Last Story and Lufia 2. You probably know who I normally write, but you can also prompt people I normally don't write. I think I'm in the mood for a bit of a challenge. If you don't know my typical characters, just check the tags here.
PS: Good thing you posted that ad on Fandom_Secrets, raphi. I almost forgot about Nagamas! Finally gotta think of some prompts.
PPS: Yessssss to my new Tia icon. She's so cute and awesome.

How to Fly [Elincia-centric]
31/5/14 18:52 (UTC)-----
Elincia’s heart pounded madly in chest as she walked towards the tall, strong, towering pegasus. Her instructor had told her that Avis was very sweet and calm, but Elincia wasn’t so sure about it. She wasn’t even sitting in the saddle yet and still she was shaking all over already. Elincia stopped and threw a quick glance over her shoulder. They were just a few steps behind her, but it felt like they were miles away and would not be here in time to help her.
Her instructor looked quite confident; it was true that Elincia and she had ridden this particular pegasus together before, but today everything could be different. Next to her was Lucia, who seemingly felt what Elincia wished she would be feeling right now. Lucia was excited and happy for her sister. They had often talked about how amazing it felt to watch the world from above, to hide behind the clouds and just see blue and white around them. And it wouldn’t be so bad if Elincia didn’t have to fly alone.
Elincia swallowed and looked forwards again. The pegasus turned her head towards Elincia and sniffed. Elincia stiffened. Avis took one step towards her and nuzzled her hair. Involuntarily, Elincia smiled and raised her hand to run it over Avis’ strong neck.
"Thank you," she whispered. The pegasus was surely feeling her nervousness. Licking her lips, Elincia grabbed the reins and swung herself into the saddle in one go. She released a deep breath when she sat firmly and could put her feet in the stirrups. It felt a tad safer that way.
Elincia looked to the others again. Next to Lucia was Geoffrey. The younger boy was very obviously torn between being worried about Elincia and being very jealous. There were only three pegasi in Delbray Castle and all of them disliked Geoffrey. Elincia never talked about how great flying was when he was around because she saw that it hurt him. Behind them was their father; Elincia had never been good at reading her foster father, but she guessed that his feelings were closer to Geoffrey’s than Lucia’s.
Elincia nodded to them once, trying to look confident, and readied herself for the flight. A moment later, the only other pegasus rider besides her instructor, Lady Anne, rode up to her.
"You are ready?" Elincia nodded jerkily. "Then take to the sky."
Elincia nodded again. Her whole body seemed to pulsate in time with her heart as she tightened the reins. She threw one last look at her family and her instructor – it could be the last time, who knew!
"Calm down," she whispered to herself.
"Sit straight," Lady Anne reprimanded her. Elincia startled into a straight position and looked ahead. She could not let herself be distracted; that would only cause her to fall. Squeezing her lips shut, she gave the reins one slight tug and pressed her heels into her pegasus’ sides. With a snort, her pegasus began to trot. After a few steps, Elincia nudged her again and pulled the reins slightly upwards. Avis sped up into a canter and seconds later, the world beneath them began to shrunk in an alarming tempo.
Elincia swallowed, her body trembling again, and looked ahead. Ahead at the clear blue sky and the few mackerel clouds, which seemed inviting and friendly. But she was still alone and she didn’t feel her instructor’s arms around her or her armour pressing against Elincia’s back. Elincia’s legs clenched around her pegasus; Avis neighed and sped up. Elincia yelped in panic; she hadn’t want to do that. Instinctively, she pulled at the reins. The pegasus neighed in protest, shaking her head, and slowed down again.
Elincia felt ice cold and her heart was in her mouth. Her eyes were watering and she quickly looked around for her companion. Lady Anne was just one horse-length behind her. The pegasus knight smiled at her. "That wasn’t too bad," she said, her voice soft and friendly even though she had to speak over the sound of wind and the beating of wings. "Better than most pegasus knights."
Elincia smiled lopsidedly. "Thank you."
"I’m speaking the truth. You were good."
Elincia was still not too sure about the truthfulness of that statement, but it did give her the strength to sit correctly, to stop clenching her legs and to relax her death grip on the reins. As soon as Elincia was even slightly relaxed, the exhilarating feeling of flying coursed through her.
Grinning broadly, she half-closed her eyes to concentrate on that feeling; the wind whipped her hair around and tugged at her clothes. The whistling of the wind was passing by her ears and sometimes a bird would be loud enough to for her to hear. She felt the pegasus running, but she didn’t hear hooves smashing against the ground. There was the flapping of the pegasus’ wings, only sporadically, but sometimes it sounded so close that Elincia thought they were her own wings. And then, of course, there was this feeling of lightness. As if she was weighting nothing, as if the rest of the world wasn’t there.
"Milady, don’t forget your posture!"
Immediately, Elincia was back in reality and smiled in embarrassedly. "I’m sorry." Lady Anne just shook her head.
"We’ll fly north for ten miles, then swing right for another ten miles and then fly home." Elincia nodded, checking and correcting her stance, and finally concentrated on her task. She wanted to pass this test, after all!
