Starbucks is making me poor, I'm telling ya. Anyway.

I have an addendum for my last Magvel post.

1. I said that Rausten almost has an monopoly on the production of magical books and completely forgot about staves. Rausten does not really have a monopoly on it since most countries apart from Jehanna do have a healing stave production on their own. However, they can barely supply their need and have to buy additional staves from Rausten. So Rausten is the only country who exports staves. When it comes to the non-KP-healing staves, i.e. the ones who curte poison, the torches, etc., those are can /only/ be produced in Rausten, because non of the over countries has the magical knowledge and means to make them. Which partly explains why those staves are so expensive (that and the fact that the material is rarer and expensive and it takes longer to make them so more working hours).

2. Jehanna produces glass. Mostly in the north, where Jehanna shares borders with Carcino and partly Rausten. They have a pretty big glass industry and there are almost no other regions that have all the materials they need so close. However, even though Jehanna glass is popular, Jehanna doesn't gain that much money with it. The problem is that good glass is a luxury goods; the production is costly and since most of the good glass is also painted, you have even more extra costs. Only nobles and royals (and very rich merchants) can afford the glass. The manufactories also produce "bad" glass, which mostly means that is not that clear and made with relatively cheap material. They produce a good chunk of it, but it's not really pretty so nobody gains prestige by buying it. The main buyers of those glasses are mages who use them for their concoctions. Still, the glass industry brings not even remotely as much money as the mercenary trade.

3. Jehanna also has started to produce ceramics. However, they are at the very start and have only recently developed a technique to make quality ceramic and it is not popular yet. Especially the rich people who would be the main target audience either don't know about it yet or dislike it because it looks plain in contrast to the crockery they use at the moment. Which is silver or gold (they can't resist the shiny). Besides, the craft of the silversmith and goldsmith is far more developed than the craft of the ceramic painter and if you want something representative, you're gonna go with the very delicately decorated silver plate (which is also shiny) than the plain white/beige greyish ceramic plate.

Now for something different;

That discussion on raphi´s journal somehow showed me that I have an opinion on things that I didn't even know I had XD What a strange realization that you actually do have an opinion even though you thought that you didn't. Rofl. And that I have no knowledge about gender issues. And that I am incredibly dense. Oh dear.

Oh, and. Vigarde as a viking. UNF. Also, Uther as a viking. UNF. (Why yes, I believe they would look AWESOME with some fur (fake fur in modern times, normal fur in canon) on them 8D) Which would then mean Hayden = ninja or navy general, Fado = pirate, Vigarde = viking. I don't know about Izzy, but I think she would be an awesome ninja as well.
