So, am watching a bit Madoka at the moment. I kinda like it until now (just finished episode 4) though Madoka´s eyes really bug me. Something about them is so strange. I do love the "bad worlds" because those different kinds of animation are really cool. I like such graphic shenanigans~ About the story... until now nothing terribly special but I know that there are some (seemingly interesting) twists later on so let's wait. (Opening song is as boring as every other opening song)
HOWEVER.
That strangely made me think of probably one of the best animes EVAR 8D Because it is whacky, it is fun, it is incredibly over the top and yet still has serious undertones (you wouldn't guess that from the beginning, really, but the more episodes you watch the more you feel that something's not right there 8D) AND IT IS FREKKING AWESOME. And I love genre parodies~ SO GO AND WATCH "MAGICAL SHOPPING ARCADE ABENOBASHI" It's more awesome than everything >8D
Apart from that I really seem to lose interest in anime (well, not that my interest in anime was ever big. Manga, yay, anime, not so yay) Though I haven't bought any manga in months; too many text books and other booksabout Staufer to buy 8D
Edit: Am I a horrible being for agreeing with Kyubey when it comes to separating soul and body? It makes sense. And I honestly don't completely understand the girls´ reaction to it. It does make sense. Especially after the explanation of hardware and how practicable it is in battle.
Edit2: Dammit, yes, you are stupid! You always ask for the fine print before you sign a contract! Did your parents teach you nothing? (Goddammit, why am I agreeing with Kyubey again ajhgberiv)
Edit3: Roflmao, "If you feel like dying for the world, we'll come back". Best. Line. Ever. XD And while the whole conflict with Kyubey is complicated, I still agree with him what he says about the contract. If you don't ask then you are just as guilty (or maybe even more) than the other contract maker. Be responsible for your own wealth. I know, they're just girls so I can understand some naiveté but still... It's not just Kyubey´s fault.
Edit4: So, finished it now. It's a pretty cool series and I quite liked the ending. The time maze was cool and I do like the plot of someone repeating time over and over again to change something. (Though I personally prefer a tragic outcome 8D The bittersweet ending from Madoka was a good compromise.) Quite nice.

29/6/11 16:00 (UTC)Yeah, the character designs really threw me at first. I was like, what is this squishy moe nonsense? That's one thing that never quite grew on me.
I. . . think freaking out at the idea of your soul and body being separate is . . . kind of warranted? I mean, yeah, rationally, it's quite lovely. But it's also really freaky.
Kyubey is such a magnificent troll, though. Aha.
But yes. The ending. <3

29/6/11 16:29 (UTC)I dunno, maybe I'd have to be in the situation myself to find it freaky, but as it is? I don't have any problem with it.

29/6/11 16:48 (UTC)I completely agreed with Kyubey re: having your soul seperated from your body, honestly. I just don't see the problem at all; it's really not comparable to being zombified, unlike what the girls seemed to think. ... maybe I'm just missing something here? orz

29/6/11 17:16 (UTC)Yeah, I'm not entirely sure how she suddenly thought she was a zombie. I didn't view the soul separating as "dying". But maybe he felt like it?
