Ächem.

Hi.

I was absent for quite some time. And there is a good reason. ....

I've bought Skyrim.

;^; I'm never ever gonna get anything finished.

Farewell. Who knows when I will ever be able to stop.

PS: "The Dragonborn Comes" from Oblivion (or Morrowind?) and "Dragonborn" are such AWESOME and EPIC songs I don't even.

PPS: Raphi, I didn't forgot that I wanted to write you a longer review for your Mercenary fic, but Skyrim! (And a term paper *cough, cough* 8D )

I dunno. I felt that Oblivion had much more diversity. ALso, the expansions I felt were lacking for Skyrim. Especially after the greatness of the morrowind ones, and the really amazing Shivering Isles for Oblivion. The DLC for Skyrim doesn't feel like a whole other world. Solstheim is just... more of the same snowy environments, and Dawnguard really didn't add much new in terms of locations and appearance either. I still have a slight grudge on Skyrim because I feel that in terms of gameplay it regressed. The spell system is more like Morrowind's system, but it also lacks spellmaking which both the previous games had. The Enchanting in Skyrim is also highly restricted, and the only good additions I felt to the game were the forge and cooking. Beyond that, the game doesn't offer/change much, and feels like a more dumbed down than the previous titles. I also don't like that they even further reduced the amount of armor you can equip (I miss Morrowind's armor system, left hand right hand left shoulder right shoulder pants torso boots helmet. Oblivion simplified it a bit, and then they again made it simpler in Skyrim. The lack of skills also just... generally turned me off of Skyrim. Again, played it for hundreds of hours but... After finishing it I just realized I didn't enjoy it as much.

Morrowind is a great game but... yeah. The hit system is really bad until you level up, where it becomes not-noticable. The graphics are more PS2 era than N64 era, I felt, and since I play the PC versions there are a ton of texture/model updates you can find for them.
