scarletmorningYup, I thought a bit about them. I think I'm mostly coherent. Also, I don't think this is everything that I can say about their character; this is only the stuff I could remember now :P I may expand that in the future.
And I haven't thought about Noam yet. Izzy and Noam are not so prominent in my mind.
Catalina and Fado
Lina and Fado have quite similar personalities; both are kinda on the stubborn side and are courageous; if they see someone doing something evil, they do something against it. They don't lie and teach their children to be honest too. They are also very touchy-feely people. They need their daily body contact or they get cranky. Also, they are both naughty; Fado a bit more than Catalina.
Those similarities also cause some friction between them; they argue easily because they insist that their own opinion is the right one and sometimes they blow things out of proportion. Both can be petty in this regard. Their stubbornness prevents them from making up quickly. Both need maybe a day or two until they think about making up; in those cases Fado is the first to give in (not only because most often the argument was caused by some reckless or (slightly) stupid thing he did, but also because he is more touchy-feely than her and misses her hugs and kisses. And because he is more aware of his own faults. Catalina is a more blind in this regard and first puts the blame on her opponent). As soon as "I'm sorry" falls, the reconciliation goes off without a hitch, though. Both like and need that little bit of friction. (Not only because they like the reconciliation sex.) They truly do enjoy a bit of arguing; at least in those cases where they know that they argue about petty things; then they do it for fun (these are not the cases where they need two days to make! The enjoy!arguments are already forgotten after a wild reconciliation kiss, which occurs a few seconds after the end of the argument.) Their passion and tempers keep the relationship interesting.
Catalina is a bit calmer than Fado and not as reckless. She tends to hold him back if his actions are a bit imprudent (she doesn't need to do that often anymore. Fado was more reckless and foolhardy when he was younger and has grown more responsible and prudential over the time. He hasn't lost his reckleness, of course. He just has more control over it.) Catalina is not really strong, average maybe, but she is interested in his fights (oggling at sweaty bodies is involved) and enjoys playing chess with him. She also has a kind of humour that not everybody likes (She loves to make innuendos. Fado loves her humour.) and can be cheeky. She is very loving (and openly loving; it's not unusual for Fado and Lina to exchange kisses in public. No groping though. And they do have a public sex kink.) and loves to read to her children. She is not a bookish person, but she loves to see Eirika and Ephraim´s faces when she reads an exciting story to them.
Hayden and Aileen
Both are rather calm characters. Aileen is a bit more outgoing and playful, which is a nice contrast to Hayden´s seriousness and level-head-ness (that is totally a word). They can be naughty as well; the prompting mostly comes from Aileen. Also, in contrast to Fado and Lina, they are not so touchy-feely and public kissing is not something that Hayden thinks is right. He rather keeps these things behind closed doors (in their bedroom *wink wink nudge nudge*). Aileen agrees mostly, but sometimes she manages to steal a kiss from him when nobody's looking (conveniently placed curtains and open doors, anyone?). Aileen is also more spontaneous than Hayden (I mentioned somewhere else, I think, that I see Hayden as a very neat person; folds his clothes before he goes skinny-dipping and has a strict schedule for work, etc.) and prompts him to do silly things (sometimes). They also like to read and while Aileen is not as book-smart as Hayden, she is witty.
Aileen is extremely motherly. She is a very kindhearted person and cannot help but try to make everybody feel at home. She is also very compassionate and her people call her "Mother of all Frelia". This is also her biggest fault; she is too compassionate. She gets emotional very quickly and often people come to her when they have problems. Aileen immediately wants to help them and would even go as far as endanger herself to help those people. Hayden, of course, doesn't like that and tries to talk her out of it (his logical thinking is very useful here; she's emotional and he's rational. They counterbalance each other very well.). That doesn't work always. Also, due to her extreme empathy Aileen often has emotional stress even though the matter doesn't even concern her or her family directly. She didn't have a breakdown yet, but she was close to it (about four or five times, maybe).
In regards to her children, Aileen is more strict than Hayden (we all know of his weakness) and her children never disobey her (she is the perfect mixture of gentle and strict). She also likes to dress Tana in very girly dresses.
They are probably the most harmonic royal couple.
Vigarde and Minna
Minna is shy and petite. She looks sickly most of the time (she has a weak constitution, true, but she looks weaker than she really is) and is not really fit. She dislikes violence as much as Viggy and they both enjoy rides through their country. Minna has a surprisingly strong personality when it comes to protecting Viggy´s and hers honour (or the honour of other people, actually). She doesn't voice her thoughts often, though; she rather talks about it with Viggy in private because she doesn't want too seem rude (she feels a bit insecure because she sometimes thinks that she doesn't deserve Viggy; she's from a low noble family). She is bright and enjoys to read about magic even though she has no magical talent herself. She also loves to sing and is quite good at it; they both love to sit in their room, Viggy reading and Minna singing, in the evening.
She is very supportive of Viggy and trusts him blindly (in a good way and a bad way; she loves and trusts him, but sometimes she doesn't think about matters herself and lets Viggy "decide what she thinks"). Minna puts the well-being of others over her own well-being, which is very bad since she has such a weak constitution and has fallen ill due to exhaustion before. She also keeps Viggy from overworking (Lyon describes his father as a workaholic.); Minna helps him to keep a heathly balance between working and relaxing (after her death there is nobody who keeps him from overworking).
Viggy and Minna are a good team and enjoy having discussions about a multitude of things (not politics though, because Minna is a bit shy about her opinion there). Viggy is the more playful person in the relationship. Though Minna sometimes surprises him with her naughty thoughts. Minna would also be a very dedicated and loving, but also overprotective mother if she had survived.
And I haven't thought about Noam yet. Izzy and Noam are not so prominent in my mind.

7/3/11 23:57 (UTC)Riev is probably more dangerous than Izuka; Izuka could be controlled by an intelligent master while Riev couldn't (I think he mostly uses the DK and would betray him if he'd found a way.)
