So, here have some Harken. On ff.net and dreamwidth. Weee 8D

Let's see if I can put down some thoughts about Harken.

- He is very obsessed with his knighthood. ALL of his supports are in one way or another about knighthood. I can't remember any other "typical" duty osessed knights having it that bad. They all have at least one person/support where the focus lies somewhere else. Even Harken´s support with Isadora is drenched with it.

- Said obsession seems very unhealthy. Which very probably is connected to the betrayal of his first lord and then his mental breakdown when the Elbert debacle happened.

- Said trauma from those two things seems to have impaired his relationships with other people. Just remember how he reacts to Isadora´s accusations: How will I be punished? (C Support). Understandably, Isadora is irritated because he obviously doesn't understand how she feels and that she is seriously hurt. It sounds like something he would say to his superior when he failed to fulfil an order. I'm not sure if he "gets" feelings.

- He connects better with Marcus and Lowen and Vaida than with Isadora. They focus more on his status as a knight while it is completely personal with Isadora. Yep, feelings are not his thing. Not too sure how it would end with him and Isadora.

- I still ship Isadora/Harken because it's an interesting relationship. Definitely not easy and probably one they really have to work on (especially Harken), but I can see them pull through. I don't think Harken is completely unable to love her; they just have very different ways of loving. Their relationship could easily break because of that.

- Isadora could help him get over his obsession and become healthy. (She doesn't have to, obviously, but it's an interesting "what if?" opportunity)

Additionally:
Of course my mind went there and interpreted "knightly duties" to Elbert in a very... naughty way. Oh lawd.

On another note:

Unrequited Seth -> Fado and Eirika´s ending with Tana (her having a family with someone) will be my default ending for now 8D (That and mayyyyyyyybe some messy Seth/Ephraim on the side because Ephraim starts to look more and more like Fado when he grows older and Ephraim likes some comfort from Seth. Very messy, oh yes)

Yup, I thought a bit about them. I think I'm mostly coherent. Also, I don't think this is everything that I can say about their character; this is only the stuff I could remember now :P I may expand that in the future.

And I haven't thought about Noam yet. Izzy and Noam are not so prominent in my mind.

On another note; self, if you go to the library, you're there to research, not to write fic. Even if it's Fadia/Vigarde and it's terribly fun. Seriously.

<3 It makes so much fun to write Fadia and Vigarde. Though I have to admit, I'm never too sure about my characterisation; I don't mean that I don't know how to characterise them (they are quite alive and ready in my head), but it's more a tiny doubt if people won't recognize them. The problem is this; in-game the brokings and the others are in their forties (at least.). In those two fics I wrote Fadia and Vigarde are (approximately) 8/10 and 19/21. They will not be the same persons at those ages as they are at forty. People change over the time. The difficutly is now to find a characterisation that shows the difference while also showing similarities. Essential character traits, so to speak. It's far easier to do that for Fadia, but Vigarde is kinda... tricky. I don't know. I have the sneaking suspicion that I make him too teasing (I love good banter and teasing in fic). Well, nobody can argue that he can never be teasing since we barely see anything of his true personality in canon (additionally, canon is an extreme situation with that war and stuff). Hrmmmm.... Oh well, I love how he is at the moment. Have to think about that more.
