Madam should stop bringing in so much mice. And if she does, could she at least either bring mice who are very much alive or who are very much dead. It's always so sad to euthanise them. Poor, cute mice. And she never cleans up after herself. Otoh, that way we can at least find them... But still.

On an entirely other note;

I was writing/thinking a bit about the Fado AU and was wondering... does Fado know of Ephraim's wish to just be a mercenary? I'm not sure what Ephraim would do because both sounds plausible to my ears: did Ephraim hide the wish because his father would disapprove and he doesn't want that stress (tongue-lashing, stricter rules, stricter lessons, less freedom, etc.)? Or did he tell him (maybe during a fight, or because he had that wish from the very beginning, or because he didn't feel like he should feel ashamed for that, etc.)?

I'm not too sure in my writing of Ephraim so what do the other Ephraim-writers think?

What is the "coming of age" age in the Fire Emblem games? Is it closer to our CA, 18, or closer to the more medieval one, about 14-16? Do you believe that it's always the same or differs from continent/country to continent/country? What about the Laguz races? It's obvious that they live far longer than beorc, but which age would approcimately be the equivalent?

At the moment I kinda tend more to 16. For Magvel, especially, mostly because Amelia. This is probably just my impression, but she doesn't seem to be 18. Maybe 17 or 16. But she's already a soldier. So is she an adult already or does the Gradian army employ children as soldiers? (Could actually be, having a war and all).

Tellius seems to have a higher CA. I still find Lucia´s and Janaff´s support not that clear if she needs a chaperone because she's not old enough or because she's a woman. Could be, of course, but Lucia seems to be in her 20s to me.

What are your thoughts?

So, in other news.... I found something very strange out.

Very rarely I get "possessive" of pairings. With means that I only like one pairing of certain characters. Seeing them paired with other characters sends a strange feeling of... sadness mingled with a whiff disappointment over me. I don't know why that is. I have no reason to be sad or disappointed. The feeling is still there, however strange and unnecessary I think it is. I kinda was okay with that until now, because it was only one pairing.

But now... I do not ship it anymore. I lost practically all my interest in that couple. And yet... whenever I see them paired with someone else, this sadness/disappointment comes back D8 And I don't know why! It doesn't make sense :( Is this sentimentality? Some leftovers, because said couple was the reason why I started writing fanfiction? It's kinda... ridiculous. Any ideas how I could change that? :(

On a "happier" side: as soon as I want to gleefully tear a character down and want to do horrible things to them, they have risen to the rank of a "favourite character". It's the special ~priviledge~ of my favourites. Somehow I don't think that they would be happy about this 8D

I remember one comment in my journal about how it was kinda stupid of Fado to stay back to get himself killed while Eirika and Seth flee. And well, if we take what he says about his reasons at face value, I agree. His death is pretty much pointless. But after some thinking I don't believe him completely.

Yeah, I do believe that he wanted to know why this was happening (and to accept the guilt if it was his fault). But that wasn't his main reason. I believe he mostly wanted to buy time for Eirika. I mean, what would've the Gradian army done if neither king nor princess where in the castle? They immediately send their troupes after them. And if the king stays back and distracts the Gradian army for a (albeit) little while? Until they notice that the princess isn't there (and when they notice that they need her; we don't know if Lyon/the DK already knew that there was a fake stone in the temple and that they would need the twins), Eirika might already be far away or at least hidden. So Fado sacrifices himself for Eirika.

Thoughts? Arguments?

... but I spontaneously rememebered a post from some time ago about pairings and the stuff they do in bed. And I said about Pent/Louise that they don't strike me as particularly kinky. Then these thoughts stumbled through my brain:

They aren't but if Pent found a "Kinky Stuff for Mages with Magic. In Bed" book, he would totally go to Louise and say: "Darling, I need your assitance in an experiment."

"Of course, my Lord Pent. What kind of experiment is it?"

"I found this book about sex practices involving magic and I need to test if they work. In the name of science."

"Oh my, of course I'll support you in every way possible."

"Excellent. We'll meet 10 o'clock sharp for our first experiment. And since we don't want to lose any time, please do not wear anything. It would distort our results."

"... I love it when you talk science-y to me."

"You may call me 'professor' if it's beneficial to our cause."

"Oh yes, Professor Pent."

.....

No, I do not know why I thought about that while sweeping the parking range. XD

Edit because I have more random thoughts:

I was genderswitching fun in my head just because and somehow it turned... serious. I was wondering... If for some magical reason Ephraim and Eirika would switch their sex, would OrigEphraim take the chance and flounce off? Would he be totally like "Oh hey, sis, now you're the male heir. I'll be off doing mercenary stuff. The girl parts? Doesn't matter, I just want to be free"? Or would he accept that he has a job to do now (as in he has accept his legacy he can avoid) and stays king/queen?

What would you say, flist? What would your Ephraim do?

I'd say, if he's turned before the war, he would probably flounce. After the war, a clear (if wistful) "no". He has inherited his father´s place and he can't just hand it to his sister like this.

A related thought:

If OrigEphraim and OrigEirika were "born" genderswitched, they would still be Eirika and Ephraim, just the other way around. Normally I always use either a variation of the original name or a name that has similar sounds, but it wouldn't make too much sense with Eirika and Ephraim, would it? It would probably be confusing in a fic, but it would be logical.

Also, I do believe if the same happened to Innes and Tana, they would also be Tana and Innes, because I can see Hayden and Aileen deciding "If we have a boy, he's Innes and if it's a girl, Tana". Which they did. And if "Innes" were a girl, he would be named Tana.

Yes, random and confusing. Yay 8D

I'm really not well-versed on Elibe and I only remember from a very recent discussion at raphi´s that there are no gods mentioned in Elibe, only Elimine, but then I just found this:

Raven: Two summers have passed since the house of Cornwell was destroyed. You tell me to forget the crime that was committed. Have the teachings of the benevolent gods given you the strength to love thine enemy?

From the Lucius&Raven supports (yes, raphi, Lucius 8D). As I said, I'm not well-versed in Elibe. Is that a one-time-happening?

Edit: I really can't understand how anyone can NOT see that Lucius totally wears the pants in that relationship. He would even top as a bottom.

That and I don't reeeeeeally get a romantic vibe from them most of the time. They more seem like a fun pair of brothers to me. But then I also look more for family ties rather than romantic hints. (But I can see why people ship them)

Edit2: Fffffffffffffffffffff, Priscilla, your support with Lucius breaks my heart ;A; Family matters, you hurt me so~

Edit3: Okay, I might ship Lucius/Serra like woah now. Because, dat support ;A; Adorable and sad and hnnnnnnnnnnnnnn yes. They can comfort each other and become happy ;^;

Edit4: This, Lucius;

Lucius: Well, before... You said something... Something I had also been thinking for a while.
Karel: Yes, that even the hands of the acolytes are stained with blood. So what would you do? Become disgusted and give up?
Lucius: No! My beliefs give strength to my will! I just...I wondered how you knew...

is just plain stupid. You are fighting in a bloody war. Karel joins late. You are very probably not staying back the whole time. You normally carry a tome around with you. It's kiiiiiinda obvious and probable that you already killed people and therefore have blood on your hands. Just saying.

Also, their A support feels kind... unreal. The atmosphere is really strange. The picture I got in my head... strange and unreal.
